Celebration of Second International Yoga Day in Czech Republic

The United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly passed a resolution in the General Assembly Session 2014 to declare June 21 to be celebrated as the International Day of Yoga each year. The resolution was supported by 177 countries.

The world celebrated the first International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2015 in which almost all the nations of the world participated.  There were Yoga programmes, demonstration events and seminars/conferences marking the event throughout the world.  In the Czech Republic the event was celebrated by noted Yoga associations and institutions in association with Embassy of India, Prague.

The world is now preparing itself to celebrate the second International Yoga Day.  On June 21, 2016Embassy of India in Prague will be celebrating the 2nd International Day of Yoga in its premises from 9AM till 11AM in association with noted Yoga Institutes like Yoga in Daily Life and Art of Living.  Ambassador of India, H.E Krishan Kumar will inaugurate the event and address the participants, which will be followed by the special messages of the Prime Minister of India and External Affairs Minister of India on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga. The participants will demonstrate various postures (Asanas) of Yoga. A Round Table Discussion on the various aspects of Yoga and awarding of prices to the Czech participants in the Embassy competition on Yoga will conclude the event at the Embassy.

Yoga in Daily Life is organizing 10 different yoga events between June 16 and 25 in Prague and there will be approx. 45 events in the 25 Czech cities.  Another noted Yoga institute the Europe Federation of Yoga, will organize "Great European Yoga Performance 2016" at Kampa Park, Prague on June 21, 2016 at 6PMwhere Czech Yoga enthusiasts will demonstrate their Yoga skills.

Two eminent Czech Yoga experts will participate in an International Conference on Yoga which is being held in New Delhi on 22-23 June, 2016.
